Who we are
Guard Select is operated by Guard Select Limited. We provide a security marketplace connecting verified, independent security personnel with clients across New Zealand.
What information we collect
We collect information necessary for verification, payment, safety, and compliance: • Guards: full legal name, date of birth, phone, email, residential address, profile photo, COA number and documents, driver licence images, bank account details, IRD number, emergency contact, health and safety declarations, and work history. • Clients: business name, contact person, phone, email, billing address, GST number, site locations, and booking details. • All users: login credentials, subscription records, booking history, communications, and shift reports.
Why we collect it
We collect this information only for: identity verification and compliance with NZ licensing requirements, payment processing and payment statement generation, health and safety obligations, platform operation and dispute resolution, and audit trail maintenance.
Document uploads
You will only be asked to upload documents when required for verification. We explain why each document is needed before you upload it. Uploaded documents are stored securely and accessible only to Guard Select admin. Client-facing profiles show a verification summary only — not your original documents.
Sensitive information
Bank account numbers and IRD numbers are masked in client-facing views. Driver licence images and COA documents are accessible to Guard Select admin only. Health and safety declarations are not shared with clients. Card details are not stored — payment tokenisation only.
How we share your information
We do not sell your information. We share limited information: • Clients see: guard display name, profile photo, bio, years of experience, verification status, ratings, and approved work types. • Guards see: booking details, site address, client contact for the shift, and shift details. • Guard Select admin sees all information required for verification, compliance, and payment administration.
Data retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to fulfil our obligations under NZ law, including the Privacy Act 2020, and for safety and compliance purposes. Payment and shift records are retained for accounting and audit purposes.
Your rights
You have the right to: access the information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your account and personal data (subject to legal retention obligations), and withdraw consent where applicable. Account deletion

Security
We use secure authentication, role-based access controls, encrypted storage, and masked sensitive fields to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure — report any Guard Select security concerns to admin@guardselect.co.nz immediately.
